The Southern Poverty Law Center has been tracking so-called hate groups and antigovernment organizations for 30 years; and the number of these groups is on the rise.

Militias, the Patriot Movement, the anti-gay movement: do these indicate simmering civil unrest about to boil over - or worse?

The explosion in the number of these groups is fueled by antagonism toward President Barack Obama, a resentment toward changing racial demographics and the widening economic gulf between rich and poor; so states a report released by the SPLC on Wednesday, 03/07/2012. Additionally, this report is said to indicate a stunning rise in anti-gay groups and purported patriot and militia movements, whose ideologies include deep distrust of the U.S. federal government. In 2011, the SPLC tracked 1,274 of those groups, a significant rise from 824 noted in 2010.

Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center and author of the report, said “They represent both a kind of right-wing populist rage and a left-wing populist rage that has gotten all mixed up in anger toward the government.”

Demonstrating a decidedly left-wing stance, the following is quoted from the 03/08/2012 article titled Southern Poverty Law Center Report: As Election Season Heats Up, Extremist Groups at Record Levels:

The American radical right grew explosively in 2011, a third consecutive year of extraordinary growth that has swelled the ranks of extremist groups to record levels, according to a report issued today by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The rise was led by a stunning expansion of the antigovernment “Patriot” movement.

On the positive side, some hate groups have seen a decline, i.e. the Ku Klux Klan, whose number of chapters fell from 221 to 152.

We are living in a time when the discourse is losing its grip on civility and hate is indeed on the rise; both on the extreme right AND on the extreme left. As we are a nation and a world turned away from God and pursuing our own desires for power, we are having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. As the Bible reads in Ephesians 6:12 :

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Our world leaders are the manipulators of the principalities that we wrestle against, but they are themselves manipulated. Barack Obama has been and continues to be a puppet, whose masters are elites that are Free Masons, Illuminati, and members of other vaunted groups that are Satan’s sycophants – misguidedly believing that great power and limitless wealth are a from of godliness in the rapidly and rabidly-growing new world order.

Hate is fuel for Hell’s fire, which makes this week’s solar storm appear comely and mild by comparison. But, this festering hate will spill into America’s streets and lead to violence and civil unrest as economic conditions continue to deteriorate and frustration and desperation rise as a terminal fever.
