Gasoline prices are continuing their steady ascent into a realm that will make the elixir that gives life to automobiles unaffordable for an increasing number of Americans. For those who would normally have the freedom this summer to travel, their vacation may be instead be a “stay-cation” because of this rise.
Vacations may go the way of the Edsel, strewn along the roadside like abandoned disabled vehicles, as the economy continues to descend as gas prices ascend. Mere survival will take precedence over recreation as we move through 2012, and for the American Recreation Culture this forced change of habits will be a bitter pill to swallow.
As acerbic rhetoric is the ammunition of an embattled 2012 U.S. Presidential race, the lowering of gasoline prices is becoming a campaign issue. Republican candidate Newt Gingrich claims that he could lower petrol prices to $2.50, but Fadel Gheit, a Managing Director and Senior Analyst covering the Oil and Gas sector for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. claims that oil prices would have to fall to around $50.00 a barrel, and said “only a depression would bring oil prices down that much.”
Barack Obama is being blamed in some sectors for the continued rise in gas prices, but ultimately it is out of his hands as well. This rise is part of an engineered economic meltdown, where the aforementioned “depression” is not a strong enough term to describe the end result. Obama has been a useful, productive, and willing blowtorch in the meltdown that is taking place, but he is not truly the blame for the gasoline price rise. Conversely, none of the Republican field – whether it be Gingrich, Romney, Santorum, or Paul – is going to do much to lower prices should they have the opportunity to replace the erstwhile Barry Soetoro in November, 2012.
As of this writing, we can only speculate how high the cost of gasoline will rise, but $5.00 to $6.00 or higher a gallon seems a likelihood before 2012 gasps, collapses, and expires into 2013. We need to gird ourselves for tumult and trouble, while not losing site of what is most precious.
While the end of the world is not coming on December 21st or on any other day in 2012, TEOTWAWKI or the end of the world as we know it is underway. Simply put, the free, sovereign, and prosperous lifestyle that Americans have enjoyed for decades is coming to an end. We have heard it for so long now that many have become deaf to the warning, but the One World Religion, Government, and Economy as described in the book of Revelation, chapters 17 and 18, is being meticulously formed today with precise deliberation. As you watch the Dollar and Euro staggering while the Middle East is becoming increasingly inflamed; while you witness an American populace overcome with uncivil discourse – perched on the precipice of civil unrest and revolt – you see the landscape changing as a new structure is being built.
But know that despite all of the aforementioned, there will come peace in the valley.
