The Wayfarers end-times, christian fiction suspense book in Kindle and paperback

The Wolf

The wolf is out there and it’s tailing you; whether you’ve come to grips with that fact or merely live in blissful denial…

*A blog co-written by a pair of characters who appears in the novel The Wayfarers: Revised Edition. Read the book in Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, or paperback, and you’ll discover who they are.

The wolf is out there and it’s tailing you; whether you’ve come to grips with that fact or merely live in blissful denial…

Not all wolves are evil; just the one that lurks in the shadows of your life. He’s out of sight; hidden in the self-induced blindness of your deliberately-narrowed periphery. You can’t drink him away, drug him away, eat him away, or wish him away. Friend, the wolf will devour you if you fail to take substantive action against him.

You feel his presence, surely enough. In your spirit he arouses those feelings of anxiety, agitation, impatience, discomfort, and fear. But you fail to deal with the wolf – you merely take out your disquiet on everyone around you. Indeed, your aggression is displaced because you know that it won’t defeat the Wolf. To the contrary, your anger, pain, and boastfulness only fuel and feed the wolf and further strengthen his flexible haunches so as to explode onto you and defeat you!

So, go ahead…live in private denial and blame everyone else for your public pain. Take it out on those around you and let your therapist tell you that it’s “completely normal.” Have a few more drinks and boast about how many you can put away. Waste more money on lottery tickets – with the hope that this time you’ll “hit the big one.” But what would you do with the money? If I were a gambler, I’d bet a dollar to a donut that you’d blow your big winnings on Wolf Chow. Yeah, you’d have more money to allow that beast to eat better!

Friend, you must deal with and eliminate the wolf, or he will devour you.

The tormentor is a temptor and destroyer, but there is salvation and hope. The Wayfarers: Revised Edition Christian end times fiction suspense in Kindle or paperback

The Liar – a Wayfarers Ode

I know that my faith is the substance of things hoped for; The evidence of things unseen..

Heavy, oh so heavy Lord,
Is this burden that I carry
It seems that at times I have been lost and alone
Driven by the unseen as a vagabond far from home

There is a tormentor seemingly everywhere
He is a tempter and a destroyer
You Lord, have called me out to something
And yet the tormentor is dismantling everything I know

I pace off the miles, cold and hungry
My soul cries for food and restoration
I am patient
I know that my faith is the substance of things hoped for
The evidence of things unseen; and yet my faith has seen testing

The evil thing paces and pants in the shadows
Bushes and briers snapping under his feet; he too is patient
As this wayfarer walks the path the evil thing who keeps pace in the brambles
Whispers lies to my cold ears as he tramples the former vastness of my earthly life
Yes, oh Lord, he destroys – as he tells me that you desire for me only failure and suffering
He tells me that it is you who is my tormentor and not him
He tells me that I will arrive at my destination damaged; as a cripple and an insane fool
He tells me that all that I do is wrong

Yes, oh Lord, the burden weighs heavy as I move forward into the unseen
I do not look now at what has been broken but instead on what is ahead;
It is night and I cannot see far; but I trust you
I see a light that most cannot see and I follow it
I follow it despite the murmurings of lying, filthy spirits upon my ears
I follow it into the frigid night because Lord, my God, it is your light!
It is a long road home fraught with peril and evil
But I see Your light, yes! Yes!
You are my light and my salvation oh Lord,
You are the truth and the light that leads me home
You, only You, will get me home
Only You will save me from the Liar

Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll

“Dead Ringer” – Wizard of Oz and Elvis?

Elvis Presley - the King of Rock and Roll - singing in 1968.

An Elvis Presley connection to End Times fiction?

Prior to this, I haven’t posted a blog since early November. It’s not that I’ve had writer’s block, but instead I have been busy writing…

This writer is at work on a new fiction novel titled “Dead-Ringer.” Based on the story line and time frame of events, it could be said that Dead Ringer is a tie-in to the Wayfarers trilogy, but is not a Wayfarers book, as that series is complete.

You the reader of this bog installment may be asking “why would ‘Dead Ringer’, an End Times fiction story taking place in a contemporary time, have some sort of reference to Elvis Presley?”

Ah, that is a good question indeed, but I cannot elaborate on an answer just now! Does Elvis come back from the dead? Well, you know that’s impossible! You may ask, “does Jesus come back in the form of Elvis?” Indeed, that is heretical and no, that does not happen!

As of mid December I would consider myself to be halfway done with the writing of the story. There are some truly interesting and intriguing characters that have been a joy for me to create. The backdrop of the story is Chittenango, New York. The rustic Madison County village is most known for being the birthplace of author L. Frank Baum, who penned the fiction series The Wonderful Wizard of Oz that resulted in the beautifully timeless 1938 film that won two Oscars. Combine the Wizard of Oz connection with the Elvis Presley reference – no matter how great or small that may be – and hopefully your interest has become peaked.

Dead Ringer is a twisting, turning, action and adventure tale that leads seamlessly into the Wayfarers trilogy, and yet it will stand on its own merits. This writing of this book is quite a workout for me in the literary sense, and prayerfully it will be a joy and inspiration for you to read.

Thanks and God bless you – Jim Yackel

How America might look after the fan turns brown - SHTF

Books, Music, Movie, iPhones, TEOTWAWKI

The below video was made in April of 2012, and it may be even more relevant today than it was just months ago…

TEOTWAWKI is not a character from a Star Wars movie. TEOTWAWKI is the acronym for “the end of the world as we know it” and not to be confused with the jaunty R.E.M song which originally appeared on the band’s 1987 album titled Document. Indeed, the world as you knew it in the 1980’s, 1990’s and early years of the Twenty-First Century has ended.

The iPhone could become useless when SHTF results in TEOTWAWKI.

iPhone - is your whole life on one?

“Well, not so fast” you say:

The lights still turn on and you can still connect to the internet, so everything must be copacetic, right? 2 Broke Girls, America’s Got Talent, and Pawn Stars are on your flat-screen whenever it’s most convenient for you to watch those programs, so your rebuttal is “yeah, so what’s the problem?” There’s beer in the fridge, so why worry, eh? Your entire life is conveniently stored on an iPhone, so what could be more modern, efficient, and comforting?

What if suddenly, you couldn’t connect to the internet and text with the aforementioned iPhone – or BlackBerry, Android or any similar technological Golden Calf? How about turning on the T.V. and there’s only static or if you’re lucky, some talking face telling you not to panic and where you might go to find help – but saying that the best thing you could do is stay off the streets until further notice?

Imagine your local grocer being looted and all of your beloved Coors Light (let alone foodstuffs) having been absconded by rioters? What if trucks could no longer bring stock to your favorite corporate food store? And even if your store did have product to sell, envision the POS terminal at the checkout not being able to process your credit, debit, or food benefits card because of widespread cyber outages and a dead duck Dollar?

What if a fairly noticeable number of people around the world were suddenly missing? And, who are all those military types parking their vehicles along the street and blocking your driveway?

This is America so the above mentioned scenarios could never happen – or could they?

Not only is it possible in the non-fiction America, but it is likely – and soon.

It’s not the end of the world, but it is TEOTWAWKI and the feces will impact the air-cooling device, otherwise known as SHTF.

America’s Worst Day Ever – an Upside-Down Flag

As every tumultuous day in 2012 America passes…

…the story that takes place in The Wayfarers end times fiction trilogy may appear more relevant.

The Wayfarers tale is staged in late 2009 and early 2010. But, for all intents and purposes – the story could unfold this year. The Wayfarers fictional world of 2009-2010 was perched upon a slippery and harrowing precipice. Today’s non-fictional world – and namely America – is standing and staggering like an obese, over-indulged drunkard. This metaphorical drunkard has lost it’s spiritual and moral compass through the rampant consumption of cultural firewater; while diabolically evil elites who possess immense wealth, incalculable lucidity and keen sobriety keep buying the rounds. In its stupor, the drunkard has left the storm doors open to allow in a host of supernatural vandals to ransack, pillage, and plunder.

U.S. Flag upside down is a signal of distress; as per THE FLAG CODE Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10 As amended by P.L. 344, 94th Congress Approved July 7, 1976

U.S. in distress

In The Wayfarers trilogy you can read about America’s worst day – in a fictional setting of course – but it is a setting that could nonetheless become factional. End times events are like dominoes and once they start to fall there is nothing any human being can do to stem a frightful chain reaction. Those end times dominoes are falling in the factional 2012 but as of today, someone or something is slowing the speed of the tumble – but for how much longer?

God is real – and He walked this earth through His son Jesus – who is fully God and was for a time fully man. Satan the angel cast out of Heaven is also real, and he and his demonic hoard walked the earth as the Wayfarers walked in 2009 and 2010 and he prowls about in 2012 hungrier than ever – seeking whomever he may devour.

Hope is likewise real; and it is from God that hope springs eternal. There was a pitched spiritual battle that took place in the Wayfarers’ America and world of 2009 and 2010 – and it is without question being waged in 2012 with all manner of supernatural weaponry that would be the envy of Pentagon war planners…

Miracles can and do happen, and for God to perform they are merely a simple task. The Wayfarers journeyed through a hostile, supernatural war zone that spilled into the Natural as it is spilling in 2012 – but they journeyed on because they had to and wanted to; and maybe it took a few miracles to keep the survivors intact?

Those who journeyed as wayfarers saw things that as the author I too have seen and those injuries have left scars. Still – and more importantly – they saw things that I pray to see…and I am buoyed by the hope and knowledge that I will. Whether it’s America’s worst day or your worst day please remember…

…no matter how hard it is, or how hard it gets – don’t ever, ever, ever, lose hope.

God bless you,
Jim Yackel
