Iranian Talk is Cheap

Navy Cmdr. Amy Derrick-Frost of the Bahrain-based 5th Fleet said Monday 04/09/2012 that the U.S. has deployed a second aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf amid rising tensions with Iran over its nuclear program.

The U.S.S. Enterprise has been deployed to join the Abraham Lincoln in the Persian Gulf.

The U.S.S. Enterprise has been deployed to join the Persian Gulf.

The nuclear-powered USS Enterprise has joined the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group; marking only the fourth time in the past decade that the Navy has had two aircraft carriers operating at the same time in the region.

Commander Derrick-Frost stated that the two battleships will act as support for the U.S. military operations in Afghanistan and anti-piracy efforts off Somalia’s coast and in the Gulf of Aden. More importantly, the carriers will also patrol the Gulf’s strategic oil routes that Iran has repeatedly threatened to shut down in response to economic sanctions.

Monday’s announced deployment comes less than a week before world superpowers are set to kick-off negotiations in Istanbul, Turkey, with Iran over its contentious nuclear program. The Islamic Republic’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stated that his nation would not agree to world powers imposing pre-conditions ahead of the resumption of talks, Iranian media reported on Monday. The Iranian parliamentary news agency quoted Akbar Salehi as saying: “setting conditions before the meeting means drawing conclusions, which is completely meaningless and none of the parties will accept conditions set before the talks.”

Indeed, setting conditions before the meeting is meaningless – equally as meaningless as these talks will be. It is likely that this confab in Istanbul will merely buy more time for the Iranian regime to further develop its nuclear weapons capabilities; despite whatever transparencies, cutbacks, reductions or scaling-down that it may agree to.

It is safe to assume that Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak know that the Iranian negotiating team will coalesce and bluff as a metaphorical card shark with quicksilver flowing through its anthropomorphic veins. Unfortunately, America and a western world that desires both peace at any cost and the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama will buy Iran’s cheap talk and swallow its sweet strychnine-coated lies.

To its own peril, it is an America and a western world that continues to offer support to the face while impaling a knife into the back of Israel; the nation that remains the apple of God’s eye.

Apple of God’s Eye

As of this writing on Saturday 03/10/12, more than 90 rockets have been fired at Israel since Friday, March 9th, including 25 longer-range Grad rockets intercepted by the nation’s “Iron Dome” missile interceptor system. These rocket attacks have injured four people, both Israeli and Palestinian officials state.

In retaliation, Israel has killed 14 militants in aerial strikes launched since Friday, Hamas medics said. In the latest attack, a gunman was killed on a motorcycle and another was critically wounded and later died of his injuries, those medics said.

Terror group Islamic Jihad has had two of it’s militant members killed in predawn strikes on Saturday, officials in Gaza stated. Israel said one of the militants killed on Friday had been involved in plotting a cross-border attacks from Egypt. Israeli media reports also said that he had been closely involved in the 2006 capture of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who was freed as part of a prisoner swap in October.

As would be expected, Nabil Abu Rdainah, a spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, blamed Israel for the violence. Rdainah called for Western intervention to attempt to cool any further escalation which threatened to increase the heat below the chronically simmering stew pot of tensions along the agitated Israeli-Gaza frontier and their common border with Egypt.

Israel is the apple of God’s eye and being such provokes hate from the majority of the world; especially the Arab world. Israel is also God’s timepiece, whereby all fulfillment of Biblical prophecy is measured – prophecy that directly affects not only Israel but America and the entire world.

The tiny nation of Israel is exercising considerable restraint as she responds to this latest uptick in rocket attacks launched from Gaza – considering a half million of her residents have been told to stay indoors and keep bomb shelters open. Still, the sounds of explosions and rocket fire reverberated across coastal Gaza and southern Israel early on Saturday and Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the air strikes would continue, telling reporters “this round in the Strip is still far from over.”

Iran is ultimately the instigator of these rocket attacks emanating from the Gaza Strip. As Iran remains a threat to Israel and to the world, the apple of God’s eye needs to remain in our view. Indeed, we live in a world that has turned to its own devices and away from the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is a Holy, Triune God who is love, but in that love He is jealous, and He will commandeer the attention of those who have turned away from Him.

The Awful Acronym

February 28, 2012 in General

Israel and America are facing together an existential threat; and ultimately it is American safety and sovereignty that are in greatest jeopardy.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak maintain that if they eventually decide a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities is necessary, they would keep the U.S. in the dark to decrease the likelihood that the U.S. would be held responsible for failing to stop Israel’s potential attack.

SHTF - an awful acronym

SHTF - an awful acronym

Israel needs to protect herself and she can’t trust the Obama administration to rally with her. And yet, this message delivered to a visiting chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the White House national security adviser, the director of national intelligence and some top U.S. lawmakers could be a case of “wink, wink, nudge, nudge” and serve as the impetus to force the U.S. to do more than just stand on the sidelines at “go time.”

It appears that we are approaching the point of no return; and in that Israel must go forward and America has a spiritual responsibility to aid her ally. But, should this attack take place, the acronym SHTF will certainly be applicable. Iran will likely retaliate against U.S. military assets in the region as well as shutting down the Strait of Hormuz – if only for a short period of time. Iranian terror proxies Hamas and Hezbollah will commit attacks in Israel and likely in the U.S.; as we can only speculate how many of these operatives have crossed into the mainland via a porous border with Mexico.

We must be prepared for anything as the world situation is perilously dynamic; flowing hot with lava-like fluidity. Yes, considering a volcanic Syrian political and humanitarian crisis and with dire American and European economic situations, a preemptive strike on Iran will see unexpected scenarios and unplanned-for events rear their ugly heads.

Indeed, the feces will impact the air-cooling device and with every day we are spared these dreadful eventualities the softer and more skeptical we grow. But, we must not grow complacent. We must be right with God and likewise be physically prepared. We must thank our holy, triune God that the awful acronym has not yet become more than just that – an awful acronym…

…But we also must come to grips with the fact that we are on burrowed time.
